The Arts Society Blackwater
Back in 2012 we originally setup a new website using WordPress in most basic form, not to take anything away from this kind of minimalistic approach. This kept costs to a minimum, whilst still allowing end users to easily edit content, including text and images. Basic SEO was applied to the site, including relevant links and requested search terms.
In 2017 the website was updated, this was relatively minimal but included adding the official Arts Society Logo and some modifications to the website header image.
Since content management was key to this site, we made it easy to navigate for Society members and admin. WordPress was critical in realising this end user management, making it easy to add anything from a PDF document, right through to adding a recent news article.
This site is the perfect example of ‘vanilla’ WordPress with some essential design adjustments for the header and menu system. Quite often with website design, simple works best. Clear layouts, easy to navigate and very fast page loading times.
During 2024 the website will almost certainly be receiving some visual upgrades, along with some modernisation. This will improve mobile compatibility for items such as menus, and general visibility. It is important that modern websites are easy to view and navigate from mobile devices.
